SHILOH MESSENGER - December 2023

WHAT SHALL WE GIVE HIM?

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart…” 2 Corinthians 9:7-9

We can never exhaust the revelation to be gleaned regarding The Lord Jesus and His First Coming. Much of the time we reduce the miracle by neglecting to be still & inquire for Wisdom and Revelation to know HIM Before. We miss out when we fail to be laser focused. In addition, the season & era in which we live has Christmas as one of the busiest Seasons & the most commercialized. It is a challenge to stay keenly alert with the diligence and resolve as those early Shepherds and Wise Men. We can surely learn from those early seekers. They paid attention. They so desired to see Him, Worship Him, and give to Him. A sincere and costly gift given to This King has great prophetic significance. The Gold given represents His Kingship. Frankincense represents Worship. Myrrh represented His Death. Jesus our King was born to die. He demonstrated His Love for us by giving Himself in our stead.

Below, each team leader here at Shiloh has prayerfully delved deep within themselves to discern what they can offer to King Jesus as a precious gift from the heart. Through faith and in collaboration with the Holy Spirit, we wholeheartedly believe that the fruit, more fruit, and much fruit resulting from these gifts will be extravagant.

I give HIM my words. I have messed up so many times in the past with words that grieved my Master. So, I give my words with intentional awareness to bring HIM Glory. I give my tongue, & the depth of my heart. "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks." (Luke 6:45). I decree My Words honor Jesus, with careful consideration of bringing Life & impact with eternal significance.

I believe The Lord desires for us to give our hearts before Him daily. This is how we are to be as a living sacrifice unto Jesus. Deuteronomy 6:5 lists our heart first as how we are to love The Lord, and I believe it's intentional. We must have The Love of The Father within us and we ought to willfully give back unto The Lord what He first gave us. This Christmas Season, I give Jesus as a gift from the heart and I say Lord, have Your Way in and through each of our hearts this Christmas Season.

"As a man, husband, and father, I offer YOU, LORD, unwavering trust. With deep love for my family, I release anxiety and embrace YOUR divine plan. I surrender the need for certainty, trus6ng in YOUR guidance. In this, we find freedom and peace, knowing YOUR love will guide us through life's uncertainties. My desire is to be unwavering in my commitment to YOUR will. With my loved ones, we venture into the unknown, confident in YOUR role as our refuge and strength.”

I will bring to Him my whole being: body, soul, and Spirit. In the Book of Romans 12:1-2 the Apostle Paul says that The LORD commands us to present our whole self to God as a living sacrifice. I believe the LORD is challenging me to be a vessel for the Master, a “fragile earthen container.” Sometimes, I shrink back from engaging others who may be affluent, but they need a Word from God too. I do feel somewhat intimidated by some. It is my passion to be a person who has no fear of man. I need to lay this fear down on the Altar of God. “LORD, I ask that You accept me as a living sacrifice, to be Your Vessel, so Your Power will be on display in my life,” in Jesus Name.

“Not For Sale!” This is this month's saying. Knowing that God has purchased us, paying the ultimate price, His Son dying on that old rugged cross. We are not for sale. Not for sale to any type of sin that comes from the world. With this, I owe Jesus my all. So I give Him my complete surrender. To obey Him the way He deserves and knowing through this obedience comes sacrifice. This is what I give Jesus this December and for the rest of my life.

My gift to the Lord is my Family. I surrender all control and give all of my trust over to Jesus for the protection, provision, and sanctfication of wife and children. My responsibilities are to always lead them to the Good Shepherd. Yet, it is His good pleasure to convict, increase their faith, and conform them into His image.

Father God, I give You the abilities You have given me to build your church and to help maintain this ministry. I know that it is only You that has given me these skills and I give them all back to You. Thank You for everything You have done, and continue to do, in my life Lord.

Proverbs 29:25 says, “The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.” I will continue to meditate on the good things You tell me to meditate on in Philippians 4:8. I want to lay ALL insecurities, fears, and all unbelief that wants to linger in my life at Your Holy feet Lord JESUS, and no longer submit to the fear of man.

Time. Something so precious, yet it so easily slips away. " You do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? (James 4:14). I heard a statement once, "If the devil can't get you to sin, he will make you busy.” I am letting busyness impede on my relationship with God. It would be impossible for me to walk in His will if I'm too busy to listen and know where He is leading. So this Christmas the gift I am giving to The Lord is my time. " Look carefully at how you walk, not as unwise
but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish but understand what the will of The Lord is." (Ephesians 5:15-17)

Our gifts to Jesus are our whole heart, our /me, our words, our family, our skills, talents, abilities, our concerns, our weaknesses, and all our fears. We belong to Him. Our gifts to Jesus are to truly worship Him, be conformed to His Image, and to point others to HIM.
