"...when I became a man I put away childish things" - I Cor. 13:11

The unfortunate reality of today's world is that many men are reaching adulthood without having reached maturity. There is now a generation of men struggling to cope with life and decisions that go along with it. Walking in fear and out of fellowship with God, they are easily turned to illusionary comforts of medicating themselves through substances and destructive relationships.  These things are self-reinforcing because they cause pain and thereby increase the need for comfot and coping. This has been one of the most effective strategies of the enemy toward men and women

Everyday, countless people are walking into this destructive cycle. But Praise God, everyday others are walking out. When the desperateness of their situation is revealed to them and they look for  freedom, who will help them?  For those who turn to Jesus Christ and become willing to do whatever it takes, victory is assured. Jesus Christ can and will set you free (John 8:36)

Shiloh Ministries is a member of the Body of Christ which is the Bride of Christ the Church. The community that we are, is the Church reaching out to those in bondage to addictions. Our ministry serves as a Christian Residential, Bible discipleship spiritual program. Shiloh Ministries was established in 2000 by Rocky & Debbie Fondren for men 18 years and older who are enslaved to drugs and/or alcohol as well as other types of abusive lifestyles.

The word "Shiloh" is a prophetic old testament name of Christ, Messiah (Gen 49:10). It means "TO WHOM DOMINION BELONGS". Jesus Christ is our Savior, Lord & King! He has come and He has defeated the devil by the work of the Cross (Col. 2:15). By Faith we receive Him as Savior, Lord & King. The Holy Spirit then takes up residence and empowers the believer to live a victorious, righteous life (Rom. 5:21).

Living life in Christ by the Holy Spirit: Romans 8:5-9, ďThose who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Holy Spirit. So letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the Holy Spirit control your mind leads to life and peace. For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey Godís laws, and it never will. Thatís why those who are still under the control of their sinful nature can never please God. But you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Holy Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you."

At Shiloh we are prepared to receive  these men that are enslaved to substance abuse. It is our hope that these men who come into this wonderful environment of love and discipline will submit themselves to God's transforming Grace. Our staff works diligently to provide an atmosphere where clearly-defined expectations are tempered with nurturing love. We insist that our students put away the childish things that make for irresponsible and rebellious behavior and, by instruction in righteousness, help them to walk through life in the power and dominion they have been given as a new man in Christ (2Cor.5:17).
