"...when I became a man I put away childish things" - I Cor. 13:11
The unfortunate reality of today's world is that many men are reaching adulthood without having reached maturity. There is now a generation of men struggling to cope with life and decisions that go along with it. Walking in fear and out of fellowship with God, they are easily turned to illusionary comforts of medicating themselves through substances and destructive relationships. These things are self-reinforcing because they cause pain and thereby increase the need for comfot and coping. This has been one of the most effective strategies of the enemy toward men and women
Everyday, countless people are walking into this destructive cycle. But Praise God, everyday others are walking out. When the desperateness of their situation is revealed to them and they look for freedom, who will help them? For those who turn to Jesus Christ and become willing to do whatever it takes, victory is assured. Jesus Christ can and will set you free (John 8:36)
Shiloh Ministries is a Christian residential, discipleship, Texas Drug Rehab, Bible training program established in 2000 by Rocky & Debbie Fondren for men 18 years and older who are coming out of and being delivered from an addiction to drugs and/or alcohol as well as other types of abusive lifestyles. (Shiloh Ministries does not require a student pay for his one year stay with us. We do ask that friends & family pray about what the Lord would have them to do to assist us financially).
The word "Shiloh" is a prophetic old testament name of Christ (Gen 49:10). It means "TO WHOM DOMINION BELONGS". Jesus Christ came not only to die for our sins, but to empower us to have dominion over the devil & sin. It was not in God's original Divine design for any person to live in bondage to the cravings of the flesh. He has provided His Son Jesus Christ as the Perfect Sacrifice to atone man from sin. Christ Jesus has come to eradicate all bondage due to sin. If anyone wants freedom from sin, surrender to Christ. He is the only One that can set you free! (Heb. 2:14-15)
Here at Shiloh we have prepared ourselves to receive these men in an environment of love and discipline. Our staff works diligently to provide an atmosphere where clearly-defined expectations are tempered with nurturing love. We insist that our students put away the childish things that make for irresponsible and rebellious behavior and, by instruction in righteousness, help them to walk through life in the power and dominion they have been given as a new man in Christ according to God's Word (2Cor.5:17).
