Living Victorious in a Crazy World

“I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world," John 16:33.

Wow! What crazy times we are living in. If you watch the current events on TV and the Internet you should be convinced that society is on a collision course with destruction. This carnal society has no answer for the murders and mayhem that takes place daily. The institution of marriage that was considered sacred 20 years ago is no longer recognized as God’s covenant between a husband and wife. Carnal society is now reduced it to a piece of paper that legislates sin. It’s no longer socially proper to speak out against it, without being labeled a bigot or possibly charged with a hate crime if you’re a business owner. Calling evil good and good evil? “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness,” Isaiah 5:20a. No wonder there is such chaos in the world, our world leaders do not Fear the LORD! “This is what He says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding,’” Job 28:28.

The problem is the Church knows these things, but does little to oppose the strongman (demonic power) controlling this sinful agenda. Do we (The Church) hide our heads in the sand to escape the realities of this present darkness, or stand and fight? The reality is the majority of the Church is complacent and few are militant to fight. 2Corinthians 10:3-5 says “”For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds.”  Jesus is the Captain of our Salvation (Heb. 2:10) and He has clothed us in righteousness by His Blood, so we can confront demonic powers (Col. 2:15). Our faith in Jesus makes us battle ready, dressed with The Armor of God (Eph. 6:10-18). Jesus said, “I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it,” Matt. 16:18. If Jesus said it then He will have His Triumphant Bride (Jn. 3:29). The Church must unify itself in order to be effective against this present darkness.

Jesus saved us so we would become “His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them,” Ephesians 2:10. When we receives Jesus as LORD, He begins the process to mold us into a vessel in order to contain His Glory. Our bodies become a home for The Holy Spirit to impact helpless people to turn them from darkness to light (Acts 26:18). We should be no stranger when it comes to knowing His voice. He is our Good Shepherd (John 10:1-18). We should be prepared  for trials, tribulations, and persecutions. Knowing that He is with us in the midst of the fiery furnace and we will not bow to mediocrity, coward-ness, or surrender. “If God be for us who can stand against us” (Rom. 8:31).

The Bible says in 1Timothy 4:1 in the last days people will depart from the faith that is in Jesus Christ. How does this happen? I believe it is thru deception due to no intimacy with The Holy Spirit. He is The Divine Agent sent to Superintend our lives (Jn. 16:7-15). Deception takes place when we are attracted to the world and not committed to Jesus being Lord over our lives. If you read Colossians 2:6-8  you will see how satan uses his deception to deceive with the vain philosophies of men. “Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” These basic principles here are the lies from the god of this world (2Cor. 4:4). The devil seduces his victims in loving the world and all of its pleasures. He convinces the ignorant of their need for independence. His lie is, eat, drink and be merry for someday you will die. Get all you can, after all “it’s all about you, right? What ignorance! Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, that God has placed eternity in our hearts. In this beautiful Chapter, Solomon has observed that we are here to enjoy the journey of life with God providing every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). God has arranged for us an account to draw from because He has provided seed time and harvest time (Gen. 8:22). The harvest is perpetual and made possible by Jesus being our Redeemer (Rom. 6:4).

How do we live a victorious life in a crazy world? Here are spiritual truths that have helped me to be an overcomer.

  • First - one has to be born again (John 3:3). Jesus said, “you must be born again to “see” the Kingdom of God.” It is only at regeneration that the Holy Spirit takes up residence and begins to reveal the finished work of Jesus at the Cross.
  • Second - desire The Baptism in The Holy Spirit (Acts 1:8, 2:4,10:44-46, 1Cor.14:2,4,14) so the Gifts of the Spirit can manifest the Kingdom of God thru you. You will find yourself so in love with Jesus in this place. You will be captivated with His presence.
  • Third - pray in your Heavenly prayer language. Praying in the Holy Spirit promotes spiritual growth (1 Corinthians 14:4). It builds us up on our most holy faith (Jude 20). It allows us to draw on the infinite wisdom of God that has been deposited on the inside of us.
  • Fourth - ask The LORD where you are to attend church. You must be in Church to be a disciple (Eph.4:11). It is here that the Pastor and his Staff will equip you for ministry by ministering The Word of God. It’s your responsibility to be a student of The Word, so you can properly divide The Word of Truth (2Tim. 2:15). It is also in this community where you can be a blessing in serving. The last thing (but not exhaustive) I will mention and it is vital, it is walking (Gal. 5:16) or being led (Rom. 8:14) by The Spirit of God. It is here, that constant communion between you and The Holy Spirit takes place. The Holy Spirit is your Greatest Asset. He will clothe you with Power to “live a victorious life in a crazy world.”
