Audio Testing Now In Process

Rev 2:7, 2:11, 2:29, 3:6, 3:13, 3:22

Years ago I worked as an Industrial Nurse. One of my assignments was to do annual hearing exams on all of the employees. This test would provide data that would indicate how well an individual could hear. The Factory management operating under Occupational Health Guidelines was adamant on the factory workers protecting their hearing against the harsh noises in the work environment.

Hearing is an extremely valuable sense that God has given to us. No one should take it for granted. It is interesting that what we hear can affect our entire being. For instance, if you or I are blue or even angry and we hear a sweet calming song, it has the ability to help change our mood. What we listen to has a profound ability to motivate us. Sound can steer us and others from harms way. What we hear has the potential to help us gear up for certain upcoming events. In our present society we hear so much sound, that many times it becomes all jumbled up. It is difficult to fine tune in. Sound becomes noise; busyness and distractions create overload. This is true in the natural but even the more so in our spiritual lives.

God not only provided for us to hear naturally but He has also made provision for us to hear Him Spiritually. Over two thousand years ago God sent Jesus His Son to live and to die for us. He has always desired for us to hear Him. Jesus birth, life on earth, death, burial and resurrection has made it possible for any who will receive Him to have the ability to hear Him for themselves daily. We do not have to have an interpreter. He wants each of us to have an ear to hear. Yet for many that have already received Him it seems that deafness has occurred.

When I was testing the hearing of the factory employees, they had to signal if they heard the sounds. The natural hearing test was rated on the response of the individual being tested. You could not just sit there with ear phones on to get a good report. You had to initiate a response to the sound in order for your test results to indicate good hearing.

Spiritual hearing tests are being performed regularly and I feel safe to say the results are shocking. Every day the data is displayed through actions. Busyness, Noise, and distractions have most definitely created overload for the Child of God. When Spiritual hearing is not protected against the loud noises of our environment, Spiritual deafness can occur.

Hearing The Lord is extremely vital to the health of the Christian. It is so vital that He gives us a vivid illustration in Revelation chapters 2 and 3. He gives description of seven Churches and their Spiritual Health. He addresses each one with this statement….. ”He that hath ears let him hear what The Spirit of God is saying”. These seven Churches in the book of Revelation covers everything that actually could occur in our individual spiritual lives. He warns us. The warning does no good if the hearer is deaf.

In the natural there is what is called selective hearing, hearing or paying attention only to what you choose. This applies spiritually speaking as well. Do we desire to hear Him when He is pampering us and stroking us lightly with tender words? Do we choose not to hear when He is convicting us and warning us to repent or perhaps telling us to do something that we really do not want to do?

Hearing loss in the natural can not be retrieved by medical means. You can purchase hearing devices but it is not the same as the natural physiological design by God. However with spiritual hearing it can be gained back through repentance and daily visitations with The Great Physician. I am reminded of some words The Lord impressed upon my heart several years ago. They seem to reverberate in my spirit regularly.  Listen to The Spirit of The Sovereign Lord, Telling you of things shortly to come. Purpose in your heart to give Him total ear, so that you will not be undone. Why oh why do we all not hear, Child of God, why oh why is it so? Could it be that we have a tendency to always be on the go? “Be still and know that I Am God.” Psalm 46:10

Do you listen to the Holy Spirit when He nudges your heart and gives you direction? As the calendar turns and this year ends and another begins, what instructions has the Holy Spirit already given you regarding the ending of this year and the next twelve months? Are you spending time with the Lord so he can speak to your heart? What changes do you need to make in your life so you can spend more quality time with the Lord?

As we obey the Word of God and listen to the Holy Spirit’s leading, we will have wisdom to know every step we need to take in the days ahead. All we have to do is obey God’s instructions, and He guarantees us blessing and provision even in difficult times. But if we try, to take another approach, there is no guarantee for us to claim. We must do what God says if we want to be assured of His divine blessing and protection. The Greatest gift of all is the ability to hear the voice of God.

How are you scoring on your hearing test? Ask the Lord. He will give you the most accurate report. He that hath ears let him hear what the Spirit of God is saying.

Oh God give us a keen sensitivity to Your voice like never before, and help us oh God to be doers of Your word and not hearers only. Help us oh God to live lives that are Holy, that please You and for which we will not be ashamed when You suddenly appear to gather your Church to Yourself in Jesus Name.  “Audio Testing Is Now In Progress.”
