SHILOH MESSENGER - November

Traveling On Our Knees With the Lord In Prayer

Last month we shared from the heart on praying for our nation. We articulated to the seriousness of the hour in which we live, and the dire need for revival amongst God’s people. In the last note we stressed the urgency of this nation returning to her first love. The United States of America was founded on love, respect, worship, and honor for the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the continuation of praying for our nation, God has been directing us to “stretch forth”. God has been enlarging our heart and broadening our territory to include much more than these 52 states in North America. The Lord God has focused the lens of our spiritual eyes to see further. And He alone has been molding our hearts to truly care about precious people that He created in other nations as well. God is calling the body of Christ to love the world, not merely our little spot on planet earth where we and ours abide. If we are to imitate Him, and that should always be our aim, then we too must have a heart for His creation globally. “For God so loved The World that he gave His only begotten son” (John 3:16).

We are reminded to whom much is given, much is required. We have been remarkably blessed in this nation to have Bibles, commentaries, all sorts of study tools to help us understand God’s word, preachers, evangelist, and teachers. We have Churches on every corner; with radio, and television day and night 24/7. We are a people who have no excuse. We have in numerously heard or had opportunity to hear The Gospel. How can we selfishly pray for our own needs and desires and neglect those without?

The Lord Jesus plainly tells us in His Word, “The fields are white unto harvest but the laborers are few, therefore pray to The Lord of The Harvest to send laborers to the harvest fields” (Luke 10:2). He did not merely suggest this. It is a mandate that we do so. Yet we will never pray for people in other lands unless we get serious and ask God to give us His heart. His heart is a missionary heart. It is not natural for us to care and love people we have never met. It is only by The Spirit of God that we can truly with honest passion and fervor seek His heart and ask Him to give us a desire to stand in the gap and plead for mercy for the people of the earth. Some in the body of Christ give financially to the advancement of God’s Kingdom in other Nations. Some go and give their lives and live in these places among the people and we should when God leads us in that direction. But have we truly and earnestly prayed that God would indeed pour out His Spirit on specific people groups who are the least evangelized and send laborers to these harvest fields? Do we even know they exist?

God has placed it upon our heart to incorporate more books on Missionary biographies into the Shiloh syllabus. We have been asking The Lord God to give us His heart for the least evangelized on the earth. He is, and it reflects in our Intercessory prayer times.
It is precious to listen to the students and staff of Shiloh travel in prayer to China, India, Africa, Israel, Iran, and many other far away places to plead on behalf of these precious people who deserve to hear the Gospel. We are quite sure it pleases The Lord to hear His Children cry out for The Azerbaijani, Azeri Turk of Iran, and The Jawa Pesisir Kulon of Indonesia, the Tibetan, Gtsang of China, The Musahar, Hindu of India, and The Kurd, Central of Iraq to name a few. It gives us great delight to know that we are making a Global impact for The Glory of God.

We continue to encourage you to pray for our nation. Our only hope is for revival. We also exhort you to become involved in praying for people globally, enlarging your territory, and traveling to far away lands on your knees. Ask God to give you a heart for the nations and begin to pray. You may say, “I do not know who to pray for.” If you have internet access you can go to www.joshuaproject.net.  This is a very resourceful site, with a list of the people groups on the planet who are the very least evangelized. They list a people group for every day of the year. It is a beautiful way to add to or stretch forth in your Intercession. Get you a world map and find these countries where these people groups live. Get involved. If you do not have internet access, we will be delighted to assist you with information that we will print out for you and send to you.

This month we recognize Thanksgiving. The best way we can express thanks is to put it into action. We certainly want the Lord to act upon our personal prayer requests. Do we not? Should we not act upon The Lord’s Personal prayer request? He said, “Pray to The Lord of The Harvest to send laborers to the Harvest Field” (Matt. 9:38). God has entrusted us with this, “Declare His Glory among the nations.” Psalm 96:3
