SHILOH MESSENGER - May 2009

Behold! The Lord Has Done Great Things

"For You are great, and do wondrous things; You alone are God” (Psalms 86:10)

We hope that everyone has enjoyed the last 12 installments of the Shiloh Messenger. Most of you know it was about the fictional spiritual journey of Cecil Armstrong. Surprisingly though, some thought he was a real student here at Shiloh. We chuckled about how Cecil had become the centerpiece of conversation when encountering some of you by phone or in person. We remember being asked how Cecil was doing or you were concerned about if he would graduate, because of his struggles with community living & missing his family. It was truly an adventure for all of us. Our intent for the newsletter on Cecil was to inform our readers of the typical daily life of a student here at Shiloh for one year. We tried our best to portray the grace of God extended to yielded & broken vessels. If you would like to read all of the installments (April 08 – April 09) on Cecil Armstrong, you can go visit our newsletter archives.

It is wonderful & adventurous being involved in the restoration process in the men at Shiloh. God is so generous in extending such grace to all of us. The Word of God says in Romans 5:17  “For if by the one man's offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.” It is the revelation of this grace given to us in abundance so that we can experience the Spirit of Christ anointing in ministering to the world. It is our encounters with the Father’s heart that empowers us to have compassion & love one another. “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins. Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1Peter 4:8-10).

Deb & I are proud of our graduates who are out producing fruit for the Kingdom of God. I am a firm believer of the responsibility of every believer who hears the Word of God. It is hearing the Word of God & then being a “doer” of the Word of God (James 4:25). The doing of the Word of God comes out of a heart of gratitude for the liberty that has been purchased through the Blood of Jesus Christ. When men come into Shiloh Ministries broken & humbled, they are immediately impacted by the atmosphere that liberates them. What brings this atmosphere? Total adoration! (Webster’s dictionary describes adoration as; 1. The act of worshiping a Divine Being. 2. Profound love & devotion). It is humility & brokenness that ushers in the presence of God to destroy the enemy’s strongholds in our minds & body. The person is then a new creation in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17) commissioned to accomplish all that God had intended him to become.

Some of our graduates that I want to acknowledge this month are: Jeremiah Campbell, full time staff at Maranatha Church. Jason Cowen, ordained minister on staff at Celebration Of Life Church. Jason Henry, servant leader at Celebration Of Life Church. Tommy DeShazo, staff member at The Foundry Rescue Mission in Birmingham Ala. Brian Gust residing in Elk Grove, Minn. servant leader, Word Of Faith Church. Joe Burgess, Baytown Police applicant soon to be Cadet. Cliff Brast, ordained minister All Around Cowboy Church. Clint Maynard (La) businessman & church servant, member. Nick Baker (La) missionary YWAM.  Jason Zikovich, Senior Resident Counselor, Shiloh Ministries & Blake Shaw, Resident Counselor, Shiloh Ministries.  These are but a few. We have many more graduates that are living productive lives & are lifting up the name of Jesus.. We will include them in later installments of our newsletters this year. We believe that Shiloh is doing what it was destined to do. We  will continue in our quest to be open and teachable as we co-labor with God to restore and liberate wounded weak men to become militant in loving God and the advancement of His Kingdom. We always welcome individuals who are drawn to Shiloh Ministries to help financially. This wonderful ministry is free to all men who are desiring freedom from drugs. It requires the people of God responding financially to the needs of discipleship for these men. If you would like more information about Shiloh Ministries, read testimonies, newsletter archives, photo gallery or to give on line please visit our informative web site. Our greatest desire is for the Body Of Christ to flow in the unity of love so that we imitate “Jesus Christ who God anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him” (Acts 10:38).
