SHILOH MESSENGER - December 2013

5+2=5000, R 12

John 6:1-15

Do you believe in miracles, and if so, can you define what a miracle is and give the definition by characterizing and identifying with a fiery splendid technicolor because it is so deep-rooted within your being that no one can persuade or sway you to the slightest question of a doubt otherwise?
Here are several descriptions of the word itself, Oh Yes indeed Noah Webster describes a miracle as an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs, and CS Lewis gives this definition of miracles as interference with Nature by Supernatural power, whereas Easton’s Bible Dictionary gives this account of a miracle being an occurrence at once above nature and above man, it shows the intervention of a power interrupting the fixed laws which govern their movements, a supernatural power.

But if you have seen one yourself, or have been one that received a miracle, or perhaps participated in another one getting a miracle, you know for sure, irrefutably and undeniably that God placed HIS Super on the Natural and is involved in human affairs with favorable outcomes.

The title to this Newsletter is puzzling, as it looks like some weird calculation that has gone all wrong, but it also is defining a miracle, as this equation is a testimony of The Miracle of The loaves and fish that our Lord multiplied when He fed 5000 and had 12 baskets left over. Our most recent read is The Circle Maker, and if you have not read it by Mark Batterson, do yourself a favor and get a copy, as he gives this equation in the book, and gets you thinking with your spirit man about God’s Divine Intervention and how prayer is such a powerful tool that works alongside The Hand of God.

So afterward, we began to review some of the miracles that have actually taken place in our lives here at Shiloh, and even though we have always been aware of God’s Intervention and knowing it to be very much humanly impossible for this Ministry to thrive as it has without HIM Involved in every aspect, still it certainly has been joyful to reflect and it has caused us to have an expectation for more of HIS handiwork here, yet let us explain further on this for we by no means are chasing the miracles but yet acknowledging HIS presence, and then miracles are simply a by-product when HE is in the midst.

One example that is quite remarkable is that of Rocky, the Pastor of this Ministry who has in his possession still to this day the papers that verify that he was admitted to a Mental Institution in 1987, after many years of illegal drug abuse and mental torment and after unsuccessfully going through numerous secular drug rehabs. You see his mind was mush, he was a dead man, a corpse that was still breathing but had no hope and no future that the enemy would have loved to have kept in that Mental ward all doped up on RX sedatives until his natural death, BUT GOD intervened and now because of The Lord’s Intervention causing Restoration you have to see for yourself the papers to even believe it was actually so.

We love the testimony that involves one of the Shiloh Graduates and Mrs. Barbara Page, Shiloh’s GED Instructor, because you absolutely cannot convince her or the student to whom we are referring that Divine Intervention did not occur, as you see this particular student had a 5th grade education, and had come to Shiloh Ministries from Alabama, homeless with the only Identification about himself on the collar of his dog named Rose that was left behind in Alabama, yet this man not only passed his GED but did so with a 98 percentile rating in Literature.

We must tell of one of the Graduates that should have been dead a long time ago, who was stabbed in the head as an infant by his earthly Dad and yet who survived but later got involved with Organized Crime, Drugs, and suicidal harassing thoughts from the enemy that was out to kill him and take him to hell, but because of God’s Intervention he now   is passionately serving God by going into other Nations and presenting The Gospel of Jesus and telling others about this Loving Heavenly Father who sent Jesus that we might have life and to the full.

These are just a very few miracles that we know are most assuredly  The Hand of God and HIS DIVINE intervention in precious lives, but  we could tell you many more of how we have watched hundreds of drug addicts come through these door over the last fourteen years and even though heroin or some other vicious chemical had them bound up and hopeless, yet in spite of this demonic foe, it  had to release them when God got involved and delivered them from the torture, the addiction, the shame, and the horrendous withdrawals that naturally would have occurred if not been for HIM, Almighty All Powerful God showing up and then true to HIS Character revealing to them HIS Father’s Heart.

We are sure that Mary the Mother of Jesus could tell you of miracles, as well as Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, Daniel, Peter, James and John, but truth is miracles have never stopped, they happen every day for those who believe in the miracle working power of a mighty God who is alive and loves to get involved in the affairs of mankind to produce favorable outcomes for HIS Glory.

As we bring closure to this letter we want to speak of the most remarkable miracle that has ever been or will be, and that dear friend is the incarnation of Jesus Christ, and how Jesus left Heaven, and came in human likeness to live among us and die for us that we might know and be redeemed to The God who is Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent, who is Faithful, Loving, Kind, Holy, and Merciful.

This Christmas, think on the many miracles in your own life, the lives of your family members, friends and neighbors and give HIM Praise, for HE is worthy, and do yourself  some kindness  by being alert, not doubting, expecting and being an excellent host  of HIS presence and then watch HIM move in your situations that look like the impossible. For with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
