SHILOH MESSENGER - May 2012

Divine Excavations

John 15:12-17

A great honor and one of our goals for this year is for our Hospitality to Increase. We have had the privilege of cultivating this goal to two different Missionaries already this year. These Dear Ones poured their heart into the Shiloh Students, and as they stayed in the Parsonage with us we were quite humbled as we observed, gleaned from them, and revisited our own memories of serving with Foreign Missions. A fiery desire that God placed within us prior to the doors of Shiloh being opened was to impart a heart for Missions to these students. “Freely you have received, Freely Give.” Matthew 10:8

Each one of us that belong to The Lord Jesus is called to participate in World Evangelism in some form, Praying, Giving, Going, perhaps all three. Many of these students are not married; they are young and have no pressing responsibilities at this time. What a tremendous time to be introduced to the possibilities of indeed actually going into All THE WORLD AND PREACHING THE GOSPEL. Mark 16:15

Upon his departure, one of the Missionaries that we hosted prayed over the Shiloh Staff. He asked Our Father to help us to find the hidden treasures in these students as He had so carefully entrusted them to our stewardship for a year of their lives. I must say, this has resonated over and over in our spirit. We find ourselves attentive to this and asking in prayer ourselves, “Oh GOD, Help us to find the hidden treasures in these Shiloh Men.”

Yes, these men come to Shiloh and are in need of Direction, Structure, Self-Control, Deliverance & Council. We have to be ready and steady, firm, and disciplined ourselves to call them on nonsense. This house of God would be a chaotic mess if not for structure, guidelines, and orderliness. Yet It is not difficult nor does it take a great skill to see the negative, the un-polished, the rough, the “oh so wrong” in people. It is not a great achievement to view the obvious, however, It takes time, thought, love, and an inquiring of The Lord to see the great potential and gifting’s in another that has not yet been on display; that is hidden deep within someone’s soul. It requires patience to regularly encourage, draw out, and an excavating of these treasures that are in earthen vessels.

Truth is God has trusted all of us in HIS BODY with precious lives. We each are stationed at different posts, and we each are in different levels of growth and development. Assuredly none of us have arrived and we can all be challenged with LOOKING FOR the precious jewels IN OTHERS. 1Thessalonians. 5:11 “Therefore encourage one another and build one another up.” You may be the very one that draws out of an individual his or her potential that will turn this world upside down. Some of the most UN likeliest candidates for success down through the ages were invested into. Someone took time and dug for the gold. And now we read about these Men and Women who radically shaped history for The Glory of God. We have often thought when we look at these students of Shiloh, that we may be housing perhaps the next Billy Graham, John Wesley, John G. Lake, William Booth, David Brainerd, Jim Elliot, George Muller, AW Tozer, Smith Wigglesworth and we could list a whole host of others. The point is there are jewels in people that wait to be discovered. Who will take the time for The DIVINE EXCAVATIONS? In order for the best to come out of us, we must be yielded to bring out the best in others. Love is a great excavation tool for the digging out of hidden treasures in others. Oh that we would be such a people who truly desire to see the hidden gold in others through OUR FATHER’s Eyes. We must be willing to meet not only the needs of people but minister to their potential.

“Father God, Develop our Spiritual Excavation Skills. Help us to be a people who mine for treasures in people, Help us to see what YOU see and respond like JESUS. Use us to draw greatness out of others for YOUR GLORY SIR, In JESUS NAME. Help us be a Body of Believers that call upon YOU and ask YOU to show us great and mighty things we do not know according to Jeremiah 33:3. Help us to be those who Prophecy to DRY BONES. Oh Father, when we witness the pathetic, negative manifestations of another, Gracious Master ,Please let us be reminded to STOP, and ask YOU SIR to fill our mouths with words of life, Prophetic Words that will catapult that individual whom YOU LOVE into fulfilling their Destiny for YOUR GLORY. Oh Lord, help us to see through the eyes of Faith. Give us passion to treasure hunt, to be GOLD DIGGERS, led by YOUR SPIRIT on DIVINE EXCAVATIONS, seeking to find the treasures that are hidden in another’s Soul. Give us tenacity and patience not to give up on others. Oh Father, cause us to live to speak life and blessing In Jesus Name. May we be compelled by YOUR SPIRIT Lord God to call those things that are not as though they are. Romans 4:17 in Jesus Name.
