 Insight in The Fear Of The Lord

“The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction;
He will not be visited with evil,” Proverbs 19:23

I hear the Lord saying to me, “there is insight for the Body of Christ into the Fear of the Lord.” I do not claim to have a complete understanding about this subject. But I do believe that the Lord has given me some inspired insight into this important Subject. The “fear of the Lord” is reverence, or  ‘Awe”. The Fear of the Lord is life to those who have received understanding of who He is and manifest gratitude. Our Heavenly Father is not an angry God waiting to un-leash His wrath upon the disobedient. "The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,” Exodus 34:6. The Lord is God, the Creator & Sustainer of the universe. He is the Trinity (Father, Son & Holy Ghost).  I do believe if everyone had understanding of the uniqueness of our design in which Father God had created us, we would relate to Him with an affectionate heart. I believe that most people have a wrong mind-set about our Great God. I know Him personally, because of my in-ability to save myself from my addictions (heroin, cocaine, alcohol, lust, lying, stealing, fear & etc….). I had no hope. I remember as a little boy (8 yrs. old) at Gardendale Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, TX. going to the alter and receiving Jesus Christ as Lord. It was real and I had no doubt that I was His for eternity. But things happened in our family which were traumatic and caused us all as a family to be  up-rooted and move to Houston. This event was so traumatic that it brought fear to our household and effected all of our lives where it caused me as a young person to question God’s love for me. I was disillusioned and I turned to drugs when I was 17. This whole distorted view about my God and Savior caused me to turn to a world that was cruel and very demanding. The Bible is very revealing in it’s depiction of the world (system) which is under a delusion created by satan to bring God’s judgment on man (2Cor.4:4, Eph. 6:10,& 1Jn. 5:19). But God and His furious Love for man would be on display in the life of our Savior Jesus Christ (“who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,” Hebrews 1:30).Fast forward 23 years in my life as an addict. I cried out to God once again, “have mercy on me Lord”! And He did. I have found that God is merciful, gracious, longsuffering and abounding in goodness and truth and so much more. He has become the greatest curiosity for me. Since that time I have been on a quest to discover all that He says about me and what I am to become in the Word of God. I have learned much in my experiences in life. It is very personal in the way that I see God and know Him from a heart of gratitude and in humility. As I observe things with the Holy Spirits perspective, I am upset with things in the Body of Christ. We are not reverencing God in the way in which He deserves. Believe me He does not need me to defend Him, but I do so because of a righteous cause, in the “fear of the Lord.”  My “fear of the Lord” is in fear of disappointing Him. I have become such a lover of His that as a son I do not want to disappoint my Father God. Everyone has the ability to know Him intimately. The Lord has made it possible for everyone to be spiritually enlightened by the in-dwelling of the Holy Spirit. No one should be deprived of an extravagant Love that is given to enjoy and to be appreciated. God is declaring to man, “All that I am, is waiting to be discovered by those with a hungry heart”. God has always intended for man to know Him intimately. If man would know Him intimately, man would love Him rightly. Therefore loving God rightly reveals a True perspective of the “fear of the Lord.” In man is given an understanding of the “fear of the Lord,” that left to himself (without the Holy Spirit)  he would be compromised to be visited by evil. “The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil,”  Proverbs 19:23 . Everything that we need to know about life and the “fear of the Lord” is found in Christ Jesus.He is life (joy, peace, health & prosperity)  and Christ Jesus has come as Light into a dark world. In John 1:4the scriptures declare that, “in Him was life, and the life was the light of men”.God has made a way for man to walk in Glory because of an awakened lamp that is in man (“unless  one is born again, he cannot “see” the kingdom of God”, John 3:3). In man, God created a spirit to perceive the Kingdom of God. In Proverbs 20:27the Word says, “The spirit of a man is the lamp of the Lord, Searching all the inner depths of his heart”. It is in this design that God made man to be a lamp for the Lord. "No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lampstand, that those who come in may see the light,” Luke 11:33. We have an obligation to God and to our fellowman to be a person of influence. How do we become influential to turn people from the dangers of sin? It comes by an “illuminating anointing” from the Holy One (1Jn. 2:20).This anointing attracts the lost to gain Light to perceive the Kingdom of God. Those who are lost desire Truth about God and His purpose for their lives. When the anointing attracts the lost, we are given an unction to deliver Words that plunders Hell and populates Heaven. “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life,” John 6:63.InProverbs 22;4, the Holy Spirit says, “By humility and the fear of the Lord Are  riches and honor and life.”The Holy Spirit is revealing here that when we posture ourselves in the “fear of the Lord” in humility He elevates us to understand stewardship in the Kingdom of God. We learn when are faithful and grateful with what we have, which is contentment, we become positioned to be rewarded with more, because of  management of the small. When we see the value of the small, we steward it well to attract the promise of increase (Lk. 16:10,11). Such is the enterprise of the Kingdom of God. “Now godliness with contentment is great gain,” 1 Timothy 6:6 .

In closing, I believe to rightly fear the Lord, we must nurture our time of being in His presence. It is in His presence where we are taught “Reverential Awe.”  As we host His Presence and hallow His Name we are developed and He gives our lives definition in manifesting the “fear of the Lord”.

It is in the secret place of our heart, “We hate what He hates (sin) and love what He loves (people)”.
