As we celebrate our Nation and  it’s 235th year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th, we need to be thankful. We have been so blessed by our Heavenly Father to be born in such a great Nation. Our Forefathers  who  signed the Declaration Of Independence  and the men who fought in the Revolutionary War sacrificed their lives to give birth to a  new Nation . All of these men had an objective. They would be a Nation that gave honor to God. How do we know this? Because of the memorials throughout our Nations Capital. Monuments with scriptures inscribed on them, like Moses, who is over the Supreme Court building with the 10 Commandments. All of these memorials are to remind the Generations to come of Their reverence to a Mighty God, who blessed their cause.  I remember when I was a boy in Elementary School we would dress up like pilgrims and some like Indians. It was explained to us in our History books of how the Pilgrims escaped religious persecution and came to a new land to begin a new life. The pilgrims came to the Native Indians with an offering and the Indians would give their best gift also. Then there would be a celebration of thanksgiving for what God had blessed them with in harvest time. It was a time of mutual gratitude for two cultures who were celebrating the God that brought them together to prosper. Now, we hear of a different version which distorts. It is said, how the Pilgrims exploited the Indians and infected them with diseases and taught them the religion of the white man that brought about the Indians demise. It is in falsehood that some present day educators are desiring to portray the Christian Pilgrim has an instigator of the Indians downfall. All of this is a demonic strategy to bring about the removal of all mention of our Christian Heritage from our History books. Now our children are being kept from the facts about the intent of a loving God to send messengers (Pilgrims) from across the Ocean to a culture who desperately needed a Savior. What a scheme to undermine the minds of a “Christian Nation”. There are also the biographies of men & women who were a vital part of our Nations history who have written testimonies of their faith in God. Now in today's History books most about what they had said about God is not mentioned. This is only a portion of what is being done to remove God from our Nations history. Just this week I read an e-mail with a video attached (Family Research Council), about NBC editing out “One Nation under God” from the “Pledge of Allegiance”. It was aired during the US Open golf championship. I was so upset with what I saw on the video. I thought, what is happening to this great Nation that I love? How is it the ignorance in sensitivity of a few are affecting our culture of honor to God? And why the Church does not see the strategy of an enemy to remove God from our Nation.  If a foreign army attempted Psychological Warfare to undermine and  confuse the people of the USA, our government would be quick to combat it. It is this strategy the enemy is using to undermine the Body of Christ. Our keen sensitivity in knowing the wiles of the wicked one is in the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit yearns jealously to give direction and instruction in what He hears from the Heavenly Father. "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously” (James 4:5 ). The Lord Jesus explained the ministry of the Holy Spirit in John 16: 13-15.   “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you”. It is in this Truth that Christ tell us that we have a “Wonderful Counselor”( Is. 9:6). If we are intimate with the Holy Spirit we will discern the evil schemes of the devil (“lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices”, 2 Corinthians 2:11). I believe we are in a time where the Lord is relentless in His pursuit to draw His Body to a place of deep intimacy in Him. He is stirring and waking us to take notice of the sin of a Nation that must repent and return to God (2 Chronicles 7:14). The Church is to be the light to a Nation that has lost its way. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).  It is in these words of Christ that we find the truth about what is troubling America. It is darkness. Because Light is not being projected by the Church. We have to be the lamp that is always lit. We cannot continue in a place of complacency and compromise and allow ourselves to be depleted of the Oil of the Holy Spirit. This is the fuel to enlighten a Nation that God loves. We have to remove ourselves from the four walls of the Church and go to where the sinners are. We have to invade a sinful culture with the Hope that is with in us (Rom. 5:5). We have to train our people to implement the Kingdom of God in the market place, universities, the media outlets and into every walk of society. It is this Heavenly strategy that will transform a Nation back into “One Nation Under God”.
