SHILOH MESSENGER - May 2011

Awake You Sleepyhead!

“Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame” (1 Corinthians 15:34)
It is time for the Church to awake and arise from its slumber. We have been asleep too long, compromising the power and authority given to us by Christ (Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven." Luke 10:19-20).  Recently in talking to Shiloh Staff, we discussed the state of affairs in the world today. We were talking about politicians and how they have let us down, in representing us. They should be held accountable for allowing high oil prices, health insurance rates and other troubles that affect our life as a Nation. Greed is indeed being manifested. Think about how Lobbyist who represent all of these entities are permitted to go  in and wine & dine politicians in order to get them to favor their cause. No telling how much money is transferred to an office of a represenitive of the people to feed the spirit of greed. When it is all said and done it all translates into trouble for our society. Our leaders should be setting an example of stewardship by managing the affairs of our Nation in integrity. Our government officials should never  allow corruption to enslave its citizens to debt. Where is the heart of David that confronts and challenges the “goliath” of greed? This giant of greed defies the Spirit of Integrity. Where is the Spirit of Elijah, The prophet with the anointing that challenges corruption? The Holy Spirit is not asleep, the Church is! Wake up sleepy head! Our Nation needs you! In the same conversation about our Nation the subject of violence was addressed. We discussed the news coverage of a 6 year old carrying a gun to school and the weapon discharging and wounding 3 other children. I spoke up and said, where was the church when prayer was taken out of school by an atheist (Madelyn O'Hare)? Yet what happened to her? She was brutally murdered and found buried in a shallow grave in west Texas. It only took one woman who was blinded by evil to take prayer out of school. It was strategy by the enemy that brought murder and violence into our schools. The church was found asleep not discerning the ramification of generations who would suffer brutality, murder and violence. There was a lack of spiritual insight to see the long range effects of a prayer-less society. The fruit of spiritual blindness is every evil under the sun (Eccl. 5:15). The way the devil chooses to destroy our society is by spiritual blindness and gluttony  to the flesh. Never full and never satisfied. We need “godliness with contentment is great gain” (1Tim. 6:6). This translates in living within our means and trusting God by His spoken Word to get us to a place of increase by sowing righteousness into our future  (Righteousness exalts a nation! Proverbs 14:34). It is the responsibility of the Church to be a “watchmen” (Jeremiah 6:17) and to sound the alarm that the enemy is invading. In  Isaiah 62:6  the Lord is giving us revelation of what intimacy produces in a heart who contends for righteousness. “I have set watchmen (intercessors) on your walls, O Jerusalem (USA); They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent”.  The Lord is saying because of your zeal for Me and My righteous ways, I will send confusion into the enemies camp and they will destroy one another (Ex. 23:27) You who cry out to Me day and night I will avenge injustice (Lk. 18:5-8). This Zeal brings Heaven to earth (Matt. 6:10). The Lord and His Angel Army desires to step into the fight (2 Kings 6:17). The Lord has assigned the Church to protect His investment of Salvation that Jesus Christ purchased by His blood for a lost generation. Our Heavenly Father will see His glorious Church awake and full of the oil of the Holy Spirit. The Church will have their lamps lit and awaiting the Bridegroom (Matt. 25: 1-13). During our watch we will care for the orphans, widows, feed the hungry, visit the prisoners and fight for the un-born that have no voice. We will not allow ourselves to be serenaded by lullaby of complacency. This complacency has caused multitudes to have misperception of a Meek Savior. Meekness is powerful! It is actually a description of in-describable power under the control of love. Knowing that King Jesus had power to call down legions of Angels to rescue Him (Matt. 26:53) but chose Calvary’s Cross to give His life as a ransom for all who would believe. What powerful Love! This love has awakened my heart to love the One who purchased my salvation. It is only because of my acceptance, the Holy Spirit is at work and awakened my heart to know Him. His abiding presence quickens me to be alert and aware that the devil is looking to devoir (lay waste) to all who slumber (Peter 5:8). It is also the Church’s mandate to be awake to herald the prophetic Word (Jer. 7:1-7) of impending danger and to seek and save the lost ( Lk. 19:10). The world is coming to a place of despair. They will be searching for the Truth. The Church is the one who is the pattern that God has chosen to look like Christ. Here is where the Word of the Lord will come and bring comfort to the afflicted and down trodden. Those who desire to know about  this Great Salvation will come and encounter the One with healing in His wings (Mal. 4:2). It is in us, the Body of Christ to manifest Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."  This should resonate (to exhibit or produce a sweet sound) in every member of the Body of Christ. The Holy Spirit is awaiting access by consecration to flow through the Church of  the Lord Jesus Christ to become the Healer to a lost and wounded Nation. Amen!
