SHILOH MESSENGER - July 2010

Impact Destiny

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God's instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted” ( 1 Peter 2:9 MSG).

For we are saved by hope (Romans 8:24a)

10 years ago on October 25th, 2000 I was a 20 year old young man, distraught and confused. I had one bag of clothes and many bags filled with guilt, shame, and consequence. By the grace of God the doors were opened for me at Shiloh Ministries. Pastor Rocky and Sister Debbie lovingly and sternly took me in as one of their sons. They showed me what it meant to believe and become apart of something greater than myself and my personal circumstances. They taught me through hope and trusting in the Limitless, All Loving, All Powerful; Lord Jesus was willing and able to set me free from my drug, alcohol and self addiction. Through the many gracious partners of Shiloh, my life has been changed forever. They introduced me to a concept that I hold on tightly to this day, Destiny. Before I walked the steps of the facility I had never heard the word destiny or at least I had never heard it the way they said it. Jeremiah 29:11 God has a plan; it’s a good plan, filled with a bright future and a hope. “You have a destiny; Sister Debbie would often tell me; God has a plan.” You are more than a conqueror, you are an over comer.” “Greater is He that is within you, than he that is in the world,” they’d say. Pastor Rocky would stand up in the class and tell us how he became “Faith Man!” and believed God for a godly wife for seven years. He told us stories of God refining his character in the engine room of Mercy Ships Ministries. Great hope and courage along with a strong work ethic, faithfulness and servant hood were pillars taught to me in that year at Shiloh. Today, I have enjoyed a wonderful and beautiful marriage for six years, 2 amazing sons and have had the opportunity to meet hundreds of incredible people. We are currently living in the hill country of Texas, serving our local Church and launching our ministry Impact Destiny (www.impactministry.org). Today Shiloh is not only helping men get off of life controlling addictions; it is also restoring those men to become assets in the kingdom of God. Men of God, Fathers, 5 –fold ministers, missionaries, business owners, coaches, teachers, and the like; this program is a proven vehicle to implement real tangible change in the lives of others. Thank you so much, Shiloh, for all you have given!
