I Thrist

Words have creative power. Most people don't really understand the degree to which this is true. Most people only know that words convey information. But they are far more powerful than that. They actually serve as containers for spiritual power. According to Proverbs 18:21; "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat it's fruit".

Our words have the ability to carry faith, fear, blessing, cursing, and life or death. People sometimes speak idle or empty words, but God never does. Every Word He has ever spoken has been filled with faith, power, and life. In fact God's Word actually contains within it the power to bring itself to pass. Isaiah 55:11, says, "My Word shall not return into Me void, but it shall accomplish that at which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." We need to really start thinking about what we are speaking out. We have the power to effect change in our lives by "SPEAKING". Our words are containers of power.

Several weeks ago, after completing an assignment the Lord had given me; He and I were having dialog and reviewing some things. I felt strongly impressed that He was saying to me, "Debbie, ask Me for whatsoever you desire and I will give it to you". At this point I paused and became very still. After thinking about what I had just heard, I preceded with my answer. Father God, I truly desire to fulfill my destiny. I do not want to leave anything un-done. Squeeze me and get every smidgen out for "Your Glory". A couple of days passed. Rocky and I were visiting a retreat center in Mason Texas. This is a place where Pastors, Missionaries, Church Groups can go and become refreshed in God, and also enjoy the incredible solitude. The scenery is beautiful with large rolling hills, valleys, brooks, blooming cactus, deer, and wild turkeys. It is indeed a place where one can experience rest. No phones, television, computer, and miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Late afternoon, we had settled into our lodging quarters; a place called the "Quiet House" (a very appropriate name). A small room upstairs overlooks a breathtaking view of what I described earlier. I sat there taking in this panoramic view of God's creation. I suddenly saw three deer in the brook below taking a drink. I immediately thought of the Psalmist words, "As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs for Thee Oh Lord." Psalm 42:1. I began to journal and meditated on this while enjoying the company of my Heavenly Father.

The next morning I returned to the upper room. I began again to reflect on, "As the deer pants for the water", so my soul longs for You Oh Lord". God ministered back to me. I saw with spiritual eyes, Jesus on the cross. He was saying, "I Thirst." (John 19:28) God revealed to me that this statement from Jesus was not of a physical need, but one of "spiritual thirst". He was thirsting to be with His Heavenly Father. God told me to also be like minded, and to prophecy aloud, "I Thirst." He said; "Debbie, do not be lax in this, do it often and aloud. This will become more and more manifested in your life, you thirsting for Me. You have asked of Me to fulfil1 your destiny, is this not it? Is it not your destiny to have deep intimate times with me? In speaking forth the words of My Son, and they becoming your words deep within your spirit, you will discover a longing to meet with Me, much more than ever before. This will be evident in your life and contagious to others". I now say this aloud at different intervals of my day. "I Thirst. I Thirst, I Thirst for You. Oh God". In doing this, it catapults me and draws my spirit man into some incredible times with the Father.

I share this with you, to invite you to prophecy aloud, "I Thirst." Do this expectantly! The Word of God says in Job 22:28; "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways". If we decree the will of God for our lives, "He will establish it"! I encourage you to decree, "As the deer pants for the water, so I thirst for You Oh God". The most important things we exhort the students of Shiloh with, are intimacy and quiet times with God. It is through their intimate times with God that revelation of His Word in healing, deliverance, peace and restoration takes place. It is through intimate times with God that faith is increased, and exploits take place for the "Glory Of God" (Daniel 11:32b). During these intimate times with God your destiny will be revealed. You will truly love God, and truly love others. This is the plan that God originally created us for. So speak and speak it often, "I Thirst for You Oh God". Speak Words of life, power, and faith. Think about what you are speaking. You will never be the same.
