That I Might Know Him

"Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, neither let the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understands and knows Me" (Jer 9:23-24). "That I may know Him" (Phil 3:10).

I believe we are in the midst of one of the greatest move of Gods Spirit this world has ever seen. Countless miracles are taking place like never before. God is showing Himself strong on the behalf of those whose hearts are perfect toward Him. Souls are saved, diseases healed, devils cast out, yokes broken, bondages destroyed, mental strongholds removed from tormented souls, spiritual chains are loosed, liberty is available for the captive, marriages restored, families reconciled, and the Holy Spirit is poured out upon the earth like "Living Water". Hallelujah!! Yet I'm puzzled? Why in this world that we live in do we feel the need to create our own image of God? Instead, we need to grow and conform into His image and likeness. We fracture churches and call them denominations, we create new religions altogether, we establish other ways or use man as an access to God instead of Jesus Christ. We use Gods name for everything from crass commercialism to spiritual sensationalism to "name it and claim it" covetousness. Do not get me wrong, I believe in the blessing and favor of God that we might enjoy the good things in life He has made available for us, but I wonder...

Why are so many Christians lonely? Why are so many Christians in lack? Why are so many Christians disheartened? Why are there so many Christians suffering from depression, suicide and mental illness? Why are so many Christians leaving church and going back into the world? Why do so many profess Christ and yet their lives, their speech, their behavior, and their conduct betray their profession? We have become Christ less Christians that come to church on Sunday and blend back into the world during the week. I realize that we have to be real and relevant to this generation we minister to, but we have lost our priorities. We are becoming motivational speakers and politically correct and people pleasers who stand for whatever is popular at the time. How we say our message has replaced the message itself. God has a plan for mankind and that is reconciliation with Him by the forgiveness of sins through the blood of His Son, Jesus Christ. Here is where we have lost our perspective. He did not create human beings and then offer His Son for our salvation for nothing. He wants us to know him personally. There is no shortcut. There are no other way to God except by the blood of Christ. Enter into the salvation of His Son, and you enter into the presence of God Himself by His Spirit. Then you begin a joyful journey of fellowship with the Creator of the universe. Take the time to know the living God. Get to know Who you pray to and whose Word you read. Never mind reading everyone else's books, read His Book. Let's put Him first in everything. But foremost in our hearts. Let's start taking God out of the third person perspective we find today and let's put Him in His proper place in our lives, front and center. In these last days, let's fill the void that is in the hearts of those who compromise, with the presence of the living God in Christ Jesus. Show lost people the Way and then let them get to know Him intimately. He is waiting...
