A Call to His Service

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and praising to God-this is your spiritual act of worship.
Romans 12:1

Hello friends and partners of Shiloh Ministries. My name is David Walls. I am a teacher on staff here at Shiloh. I have been here 2 years in October serving Christ our Lord, under Pastors Rocky and Debbie. I will try, in just a few words, to tell you how wonderful it is to serve God here at Shiloh by giving you just a little of a personal testimony.

I must begin by telling you that if not for the wonderful woman I married I could not do what I do. She has been patient and longsuffering in our service to God. We both went to Bible College while working and raising our children, however, after she acquired her Associates Degree in Ministry she dropped out so that I could go on and get my Bachelors. She has never stopped supporting me in all that God has called us to do.

Before Bible College I studied the Word of God as a workman unashamed (II Timothy 2:15). I was awakened to the fact that the Church didn't know or understand a lot of their Bible. I began to feel the need to tell someone about what the Holy Spirit had taught me and was teaching me. After seeking God's counsel, He instructed me to go to Bible school. This stirred my curiosity ev

en more and I've never stopped studying the Word of God.

God allowed me to teach a class in churches here and there over the last 15 years but never enough time to really teach like I wanted to teach. For a year I traveled for Central Christian University, teaching and setting up study centers for various churches all over the country but it was never enough. Laura and I were even at one church 4 years teaching and ministering but it never seemed to be quite enough. Yes the people responded and from our classes other ministries were started but it seemed as though we were never quite at the right place. You just know in your spirit man when it's God and when its not. Well Shiloh is God's place and I praise Him for sending me here.

Laura and I had been working as Associate Pastors in east Texas for about a year. God released us and we came back to the Houston area not knowing what He would have us do. We went back to Crosby church where we had attended before we left the area, and were working in an annual outreach for the church at the Crosby Rodeo grounds. I saw Pastor Rocky from a distance and was impressed by the Lord to ask him if I could come out and teach a class. One class turned into 3 and one day turned into 5. So here I am.

Since the first day, God knit my heart to this ministry. I have never in my life served with and for two people with so much faith. Folks I have been walking with the Lord twenty years and have been around people of God. People well known and people not so well known. People of great faith and people with little faith. But never have I been with two people with faith like these two. Literally every need is prayed into this place. Sometimes God takes us to the last day we are almost holding our breath. But He always comes through. This is truly His work.

We have many needs here at Shiloh. On the Ministry Updates page you will find some of them listed. The only way we get these needs met is by God working through you. I ask you today to please pray about supporting this ministry on a monthly basis and to see what God would have you to do concerning these listed needs.

For Laura and I this is just our reasonable service. We will continue on here at Shiloh as long as God allows us. We hope that will be until Jesus returns for His Church. We will continue to teach the Word of God and to teach the men of Shiloh that to have a personal relationship with Jesus is the only way to find true happiness and joy in your life. I pray that God bless each and every one of you with abundance, love, grace and mercy.

"Yours in Christ"
David E. Walls, Sr."
