"Earthly License for Heavenly Interference"

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." (Matthew 16:19)

Over and over again I’m questioned in my spirit man, do we know how to pray? And what is the key to getting our prayers answered ? This scripture in Matthew 16:19 is the key for “earthly license for heavenly interference”. The church needs to know how to pray and why God has asked us to pray. We have to manifest Kingdom Authority in our prayer life and spiritual walk. We must have revelation of our awesome position as “Kingdom Citizens”. I am convinced that prayer is one of the most misunderstood privileges that God has given to man. Prayer is not just an activity, a ritual or obligation. Nor is it begging God to do what we want him to do. It is communion and communication with God that touches His heart. When we understand the principles of prayer, then we will begin to enjoy our communion with God and receive grace and have confidence. Prayer is meant to be one of the most exciting aspects of a life of faith. It has the power to transform lives, change circumstance and give peace and perseverance in the midst of trial, alter the course of nations and win the world for Christ. The power of prayer is the inheritance of the believer. Here are some motivating facts about prayer. “Prayer is the expression of man’s relationship with God and participation in His purposes on earth. Prayer is also an expression of mankind’s unity and relationship of love with God. The heart of prayer is communion with God in a unity of love and purpose. It is agreeing with God in heart, soul, mind and strength, to bring about Gods will. Therefore we can say that prayer is man’s vehicle of the soul and spirit by which he communes with the invisible God. It is out of this privileged position as His representatives that comes a natural response to seek the heart of our God, Who desires to intervene and invade every aspect of life here on earth. When God gave man dominion, He gave him the freedom to legally function as the authority on this planet. In Genesis 1:26, God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." In this way, He placed His will for the earth on the cooperation of the will of man. God did not change this purpose when man fell, because His purpose are eternal. “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, The plans of His heart to all generations” (Psalms 33:11). Therefore our need for prayer is a result of the way God arranged dominion and authority for the earth. When God said, “Let them rule….over all the earth,” He was ordering the dominion of the world in such a way as to make the rule of humans essential for the accomplishment of His purposes. He causes things to happen on earth when men and women are in agreement with His will. Prayer is therefore essential for Gods will to be done on earth. Since God never breaks His Word concerning how things are to work, prayer is mandatory (not optional) for spiritual progress and victory in our individual lives and in the world at large. Gods plan is for man to desire what He desires, to will what He wills and to accomplish His purposes in the world so that goodness and truth may reign on the earth rather than spiritual darkness. In this sense, prayer is man giving God the freedom to intervene in earths affairs. In other words, “prayer is earthly license for heavenly interference.” I remember years ago when I was with Mercy Ships and God called me to be a missionary for an appointed season in my life, I was believing God for a godly wife. Not long after that prayer I met Debbie in the Dominican Republic in 1993 and we became husband & wife in 1998. God brought a woman of God all the way from South Carolina via YWAM Nashville, to assist in His perfect plan for my life. This was not happenstance or coincidence. It was providential and ordained. Our lives could have never connected if we where casual in prayer and in our relationship with God. Shiloh Ministries became a reality because of God hearing men’s cry of slavery to a hard taskmaster (substance abuse). “And the Lord said: "I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows. So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey. Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt." (Exodous 3:7-10). God hears the cries of the oppressed and responds to un-fulfilled destinies. There was a time when the buildings of Shiloh where vacant and empty. In our spirits we had the Heart beat of God for the enslaved. We began to use the Kingdom keys of prayer and began calling for heavens interference in men’s enslavement. As we prayed the host of Heaven were loosed and brought protection, provision and supply for Shiloh to become a reality and so that we could operate and be productive. The Holy Spirit brought the anointing for lives to hear the Word of God that liberates and beckons men to dominion and authority over their flesh and the devil. God is God and He awaits our prayers and supplication. Let us all involve God in every aspect of life here on earth. His desire is to bring Kingdom Life to our fallen world. LORD, I pray “Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
